- פָּחָז, פָּחוֹזm. (preced.; cmp. אָרְכֵיסְטֵיס as expl. of רֵיק; v. Jud. 9:4) heedless person, dancer, jumper.Pl. פָּחָזִים, פָּחוֹזִ׳. Yalk. Gen. 157 (ref. to פחז, Gen. 49:4) נדמתה לפ׳ המקפיצים thou becamest like the dancers that jump; Gen. R. s. 98 (read:) נעשית כפ׳ שנשתברו שוקיהן׃ כמים רבנן וכ׳ thou becamest like acrobats whose legs are broken (by falling); כמים belonging to the succeeding sentence as text word).
